Before a lot is agreed
Grade and weight are checked and the price is agreed in writing before anything is dispatched (see how an engagement runs). Until those terms are agreed, either side can withdraw an enquiry or a quote.

Cancelling an agreed lot
Once a lot is agreed, it can be cancelled or changed before dispatch only if both sides agree, in writing. Costs already incurred, such as transport booked for the lot, are settled as the lot’s written terms say.

If a lot is not as agreed
Tell us as soon as you can, and within any time limit in the lot’s terms. Quote the invoice or weighment slip number and send photographs where they help.
We will look into it with you, re-weigh or re-inspect where needed, and settle any difference under the lot’s written terms. If a refund or a price adjustment is due, we make it against the original invoice, by credit note or bank transfer.

When you sell to us
Material you sell us is weighed in your presence where possible and paid for on the terms agreed for that lot. If you disagree with a weight or a grade, tell us straight away so we can check it again together.
